Byun Woo-seok’s Security Company Explains Controversy, “We Consullted With Airport Security Team In Advance”

On July 14th, an official from the security company in charge of Byun Woo-seok said to JTBC Entertainment News, saying “Some fans followed us up to the airport lounge, causing the place to be crowded. Because of that, we checked the passengers’ tickets in front of the escalator before entering the lounge in consultation with the airport security team. It was not a forced check because we do not have the authority to do so.”

They continued, “Some people were not checked, and some complained to the airport security team. Other than that, we believed that everything proceeded without any issues. However, there still seems to be some misunderstandings”.
Regarding criticism over Byun Woo-seok’s security team blocking the gate for 10 minutes, the security company explained, “As many people tried to go through at once, there was a risk of accidents. We decided to take measures to keep the safety and prevent accidents. We already consulted with the airport security team and relevant departments as well as notified the fans and reporters at the airport of this in advance.”

They continued, “We will ask for cooperation from fans on the scene and provide more thorough training for our security team members. Taking this incident as an opportunity, we plan to conduct training to prevent recurrence”, adding “We deeply apologize for causing inconvenience”.
